Mentors make a difference! Just ask Brianna. Four years ago, before she met her mentor Janet, Brianna missed more than 40 days of school. She was flagged as being high risk, truant, and difficult for her teachers to deal with. Fast-forward to the present and it's a much different, much more hopeful story. Half-way through this past school year Brianna hadn't missed a single day of school and she even made the Honor Roll. Brianna and her mom credit Janet with being the guiding light for that amazing turnaround. Mentors like Janet provide encouragement, accountability, and self-esteem for children at-risk. Your support can help match more kids with mentors so more of the 900 children on waiting lists around Rhode Island can find their guiding light.
